The two-day event was well receoved by owners, some 40 Mazda owners turned out to support the rare event, organized by the good folks at Bermaz Motor. At the special made-out track, Mazda owners who came from the Klang Valley, Malacca, Terengganu and other States experience Jibba Ittai first hand. The buzzword with Mazda, owners drove with the Jinba Ittai gusto and tested their driving skills with the challenges.
Mazda owners took their turns to take the Time Trial challenge and test their agility, after a day on the dynamic driving practical course. Each owner who participated in the event was presented with a certificate of accomplishment. Everyone who participated looked forward to another event by Mazda’s motorsport division.
At the end of the event, MazdaSports division made a promise to owners to design more “Advance Driving” programs in due course. The future program would be either model specific or by categories based on vehicle drivetrain, powertrain and dimensions. In addition, programs tailored specifically for Mazda’s SUV range (CX-3 and CX-5) and the famed Roadster MX-5 are currently underway.
MazdaSports division was formed in 2016. The division currently encompasses vehicle development, parts and accessories, and experience programs. Since its inception, the division has developed two models under its vehicle development project; the Mazda3 and Mazda2 with the nameplate MS and M+, respectively, for the domestic market. In time to come, MazdaSports division is set to offer a wider range of experience programs under the MazdaSports Academy.
