McLaren Senna GTR headlines Retromobile exhibition

The coveted McLaren Senna GTR is headlining the ongoing Retromobile exhibition in Paris, from 5 – 9 February.

Intended for track use, the Senna GTR is the ultimate track car by McLaren. The track version Senna GTR is distinguished from its street-legal sibling by striking aerodynamic additions, including a huge rear wing and diffuser. It’s the one of the quickest McLarens around, based on the road-legal Senna.

The McLaren Senna road-legal features a combination of low weight, extreme power, aerodynamic prowess and a revolutionary, active suspension system. Its low weight Is attributed to an ultra-lightweight construction, with carbon fiber chassis and body panels. The chassis is made of carbon fiber Monocage III that forms the core of the super car. Overall weight is just 1,198kg. The rear-wheel supercar has a mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged V8.

Alongside the Senna GTR is the iconic McLaren, the awesome McLaren F1 (GT01R).  Following good runs at Le Mans and endurance races three decades ago, McLaren would introduce the F1 with the ‘Longtail’. The collection of McLaren F1 cars at Retromobile is completed by chassis 69, one of the last road cars to be built in the final year of production, 1998. Offered for sale by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) in 2016, F1 no.69 is presented in Carbon Black complimented by subtle detailing throughout, whilst inside the central driving seat is finished in black and contrasting red leather, with the dual passenger seats upholstered in Alcantara.

The other McLaren on show is one of only four McLaren M6GT cars ever built. Representing the genesis of McLaren Automotive, the M6GT was developed from the M6 Can-Am racer by Bruce McLaren with the intention of selling a race car for the road. Half a century later, the company he founded has fully realized that dream with a range of innovative supercars that includes the 720S, GT and Speedtail.

Held in the largest and most prestigious hall at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre, Paris, Retromobile is an annual showcase of motoring heritage with over 1,000 vehicles on display.
