Well, there’s no words to describe Mercedes’ top performer, this magnificent creation hit the Nordschleife Nürburgring with a lap time of 7:10.92. Its design is a sight to behold, beginning with the new AMG Panamericana grille (that’s inherited from the 300 SL racer), along with 15 chrome-plated vertical fins. Other front highlights are the wide front splitter, air Curtains and the double wheel arch radiators.

The AMG GT R features new and unique wheel arch liners with special cooling-air slits, carbon component and active air management system. The carbon component and active air management play their part in aerodynamics of the speedster.

At the side, the GT-R is accentuated by AMG 10-spoke forged wheels in titanium grey, sized at 10.0 J x 19 ET56 at the front and 12.0 J x 20 ET52 at the rear. The wheels afford a clear view of the brake callipers, which are painted in yellow exclusively for the AMG GT R. Profile highlights include side sill panels, inserts in high-gloss black and high-gloss black caps on the housings of the door mirrors.

As a ready-to-race performer, the AMG GT-R’s interior obviously comes with sport bucket seats; in this case the AMG Performance seats upholstered in nappa leather or DINAMICA microfiber as an option. The interior also include Night package which comprises high-gloss black shift paddles, gloss black steering wheel bezel, gloss black door sills and boot cross member. The other standard-specification is the AMG Interior Piano Lacquer package or the optional matt black carbon fiber trimming.

Under the hood, the AMG GT-R comes with a thumping AMG 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine, paired with a configurable seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It pushes an output of 430 kW (585 hp) and a peak torque of 700 Nm, between 1900 and 5500 rpm. ‘Nuff said.

To keep a performer like the AMG GT-R rock solid on the road or track, the suspension consists of coil-over suspension with AMG RIDE CONTROL and adaptive damping system. With adaptive damping, the driver is able to select three available modes: “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Sport Plus”.

Last but least, the standard 3-stage ESP with the settings “ESP ON”, “ESP SPORT Handling Mode” and “ESP OFF” works in perfect unison with the limited-slip differential and is optimally tuned to the outstanding driving dynamics of the AMG GT-R.
