MINI has announced two John Cooper Works Editions, deemed most powerful ever on the road. The MINI Clubman and Countryman now come with the John Cooper Works (JCW) variants.

Both new Clubman and Countryman JCWs have 75hp more than their predecessors, with torque up 100 Nm to 450 Nm. The Clubman JCW has an output of 306hp, and as standard, the engine is paired with an 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and ALL4 all-wheel drive. Furthermore, the Clubman JCW does 0 – 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, while the Countryman  achieves it in 5.1 secs. Increase in output is made possible by a new advanced cooling system.

In addition, there’s a new sport exhaust to give the new JCWs a more ‘pacey’ sound. With ALL4, the new JCWs have a better ride and handling, thanks to the interconnected DSC Dynamic Stability Control.

Meantime, an adaptive chassis with electronically controlled dampers is available as an additional option for both new JCWs.

In the braking department, the JCWs now contain 4-piston, fixed-caliper disc brakes on the rear wheels. The large brake discs of 360 × 30 millimeters at the front and 330 × 20 mm at the rear.

When it comes to equipment, both JCWs have central air inlet, a honeycomb pattern structure, paintwork in red for the roof and mirror caps. Inside the vehicle, JCW sports seats come as standard, with a sports steering wheel and anthracite headliner. And there’s more standard equipment: LED headlights, MINI Driving Modes, Navigation Pack on a 6.5-inch display with touchscreen, and Comfort Plus pack with front and rear Park Distance Control (PDC)/Park Assist, a rear view camera, seat heating and folder mirrors.

Wheel sizes and designs offered are 18 inch JCW light metal wheels in Black Grip Spoke and JCW 19 inch Circuit Spoke (option).

The MINI JCW Clubman and JCW Countryman are available from July in Europe.
