|MINI Cooper S Paceman Sports Activity Coupe today made its domestic debut as the latest and seventh variant of the MINI range.|
In a nutshell, the MINI Cooper S Paceman is essentially a two door mini coupe with a large rear and an interior lounge concept. At the front, the Sports Activity Coupe has the customary MINI top and bottom grilles with two squared chrome bezels at the bottom grille’s edges, expanded headlights and rounded foglights. From the side, the stretched proportions define the Cooper S Paceman’s muscular stance. It is at the rear that the MINI Cooper S Paceman stands out, thanks to the horizontal design cues on the rear lights. Sloping coupe-like rear window with chrome strip and horizontal creases also add to the car’s wide profile intentions.
Larger than its immediate siblings, the MINI Cooper S Paceman measures 4,109 millimeters in length, 1,786 mm tall and 1,518 mm for its wheelbase. The lengthen wheelbase obviously allows greater cabin space and presents a lounge ambience within.
Bespoke interior design elements create typically MINI impression such as the horizontally structured instrument panel with newly designed surrounds for the air vents; large circular Center Speedo, with matt-finished, ring-shaped borders in Carbon Black; surrounds for the central control panel in a contrasting color; window buttons arranged in the door panel trim; and three-dimensional door ellipses reaching into the rear compartment. Additionally, driver and front passenger height adjustable sports seats give a better view of the road. At the rear, the seats with adjustable functions offer adequate shoulder room and headroom, so long as you’re not too tall.
For a more effective car and driver interaction, the MINI Connected now provides the Radio MINI Visual Boost with 6.5” LCD Display Mission Control, App for iPhones & online activities, 1,800 pre-recorded messages on the car’s status, and Dynamic Music that supports up to 10 tracks. Interestingly, the Mission Control showcases an animated picture of a goldfish in a bowl, urging drivers on to achieve the next level of MINIMALISM driving or fuel efficient driving.
The MINI Cooper S Paceman is powered by a 1.6-liter petrol engine with fully variable valve management which joins forces with a twin-scroll turbocharger and direct injection to generate maximum output of 184 hp at 5,500 rpm. Plus, peak torque of 240 Nm is on tap between 1,600 and 5,000 rpm; all of which enables the MINI Cooper S Paceman to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 212 km/h. Fuel efficiency-wise, the Cooper S Paceman does 7.5 liters per 100 km; whereas emissions is accorded 175 grams per km.
Five exterior colors are valid for the MINI Cooper S Paceman, including two new colors the Brilliant Copper and Starlight Blue. The roof and exterior mirror caps can be painted in body color, white or black.
The MINI Cooper S Paceman goes for RM 288,888.00, minus insurance; while the optional Glass Roof will set aside another RM 7,888.00.
