The 2017 Peugeot 208 and 2008 have made available for bookings since late December 2016. Both models are fitted with the famed PureTech powerplant that enables higher output and maximum efficiency. The engine churns an output of 112 PS and torque rated at 205 Nm. On the efficiency portion, fuel consumption is only 4.2l/100km and has an estimated distance of 1,1909 km on a single tank. The PureTech engine is paired to a six-speed auto transmission with Quickshift.

Another significant key feature is the Stop-Start Technology, which ensures optimal control over fuel consumption and C02 emissions as it deactivates the engine when speed is below 20 km/h and restarts smoothly when the accelerator is pressed. This Stop Start technology also has the benefit of reducing fuel consumption when driving by up to 15% in dense urban traffic and re-ignition, which is 40% quicker.

Significant updates made available on the new Peugeot 208 are minimal but relevant for the model’s life cycle. A new signature headlight has been added to the already sleek front fascia. A wider grille and thicker chrome finisher combined with separate front foglights give the front-end a more menacing look. At the rear, 3D LED lights and an LED light signature further captivate onlookers. The 208 package is completed by unique 16-inch wheels.

The 2008 compact SUV gets a new vertical front grille which features the lion at the center of its multifaceted grid. Its muscularity is further emphasized by 17-inch Hydre Antra dual tone rims. The appeal of the 2017 Peugeot 2008 SUV Puretech is enhanced by its elegant newly designed lighting signature consisting of LED daytime running lamps, front fog lamp with cornering assist lighting and 3D rear lights.

Interior-wise, the both models receive a 7-inch touchscreen as part of the i-Cockpit package, auto start/stop, Arkhamys 3D Audio system with 6 speakers, digital dual zone climate control via touchscreen, versatile modular seats, generous cabin storage and a ample boot space. A panoramic roof with blue mood LED lighting is reserved for the 2017 Peugeot 2008 SUV Puretech.

Both 208 and 2008 take on an array of active safety features: Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS, Electronic Brake Distribution , Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Anti-Skid Regulation (ASR), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Hill Start Assist. On passive safety features, the cars have these standard equipment: six airbags, Very High Strength Steel grade body construction, pretensioner safety belt with load limiter and seatbelt alarm audio, advanced electric power steering, three ISOFIx points and Peugeot Rolling Code Transponder immobilizer security.

Peugeot Malaysia targets to deliver 3,600 units for the two new models for the year. The two models make up 44% of Peugeot Malaysia’s total sales.

The Peugeot 208 is offered in Digital White, Virtual Blue, Nera Black, Atomic Orange, Rouge Red and Aluminium hues, while the 2008 SUV comes in Digital White, Ultimate Red, Emerald and Artense Grey colors. Both models are provided the new 5-year Peace-of-Mind warranty, newly announced by Peugeot Malaysia. The 5-year full manufacturer warranty will be applicable to specific models launched from 2017.
