|Since taking over the Citroen marque in early January this year, official distributors Naza Euro Motors has announced two new variants – the Citroen DS5 and DS4 – to kick off the year proper on 26 February.|
The Citroen DS5 and DS4 will be presented at the spanking new Citroen 3S facility in the Glenmarie, Shah Alam vicinity.
The DS line was introduced by Citroen in 2010 with the aim of introducing distinctive models with ground breaking design built on the two pillars of the brand’s tagline – creativity and technology.
The Citroen DS5 first debut as the C-Sportlounge Concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2005. Citroen’s mid-sized sedan boasts an aerodynamically-savvy silhouette as well as a design concept that’s bold and assertive.
Inside, the DS5’s takes on aerospace-inspired styling cues such as; a driver-centric cockpit, aircraft-styled overhead controls and a three-section glass roof.
Under the hood, the Citroen DS5 is powered by a 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbo high-pressure engine that delivers 156 hp and 240 Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The compact DS4, which was named the “Most Beautiful Car of the Year” by Auto Bild in 2011, blends defined shoulder and all-around flair lines on a curvaceous body. Possibly an updated version, the DS4 incorporates raised suspension, concealed rear doors, stretched lines and a sculpted silhouette. Powered by a 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbo powerplant with 6-speed automatic gearbox, the DS4 is capable of 163 hp and 240 Nm of torque.
Besides the cars, the flagship Citroen Glenmarie Center houses a DS Salon to showcase the marque’s DS line and exclusive range of merchandise.
