2013 Kia Picanto Naza Kia today announced prices for their latest small compact – the all-new Kia Picanto. The new little car joins the company’s new breed of line-ups for the year, which included the Kia Rio and Cerato.

The new Kia Picanto is positioned for consumers who are seeking a reasonably-priced compact city car with an attractive outlook and value-for-money features that do not compromise on fuel economy and safety. Competitively-priced is the buzz word for the new Picanto, thanks to Kia’s input of almost everything feasible into their latest A-segment variant.  Naza Kia even proclaimed that the new Picanto’s perceived value is equivalent to that of a C-segment car.  We deemed it as a down-sized Rio!

2013 Kia Picanto: An able compact with all the necessary trimmings and more

In addition, the new Kia Picanto has the looks that convey a sense of solidity and some form of sturdiness. At the same time, it offers a very reasonable efficiency with reduced CO2 emissions and lots of interior and safety features. This Kia small compact has even received the International iF Product Design award and Red Dot award for its exterior desirability. Check out the Picanto’s projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, the first in the segment. Then, there are the ample value added motifs such as; LED rearlights, escort light with welcome illumination, LED-illuminated sun visor with big vanity mirror and steering with audio/bluetooth switches.

With an option of either an automatic transmission or manual, the Kia Picanto’s Kappa 1.2-liter 4-cylinder DOHC engine is optimized in both output and fuel economy with up to date technologies such as Dual-CVVT and high pressure cast aluminum block. Speaking of fuel economy, the Picanto manual version returns a staggering 22.2km/liter, while the auto version gives 18.7km/l.

Safety features on the new Kia Picanto are aplenty and quite unheard of for the segment, for example;  six airbags, 4 disc brakes, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC).
