The soon-to-be-introduced, all-new Kia Grand Carnival has surfaced at the ongoing Malaysia Autoshow 2016 at the MINES MIECC, courtesy of Naza Kia Malaysia. At the Autoshow, Naza Kia Malaysia has revealed that the Grand Carnival is slated to be launched in early 2017.

First introduced as the Kia Ria in the country, the new Kia Grand Carnival features improved driving dynamics and new styling cues, along with premium interior and technology offerings. The new Grand Carnival is a recommended vehicle for customers who are in search of premium class, large space and safety all in one Multi-purpose vehicle. Since the Grand Carnival’s arrival in 1999, the MPV has been a tremendous success worldwide for Kia, connecting on multiple levels with families, thriving professionals and active lifestyle consumers alike.

The new Kia Grand Carnival’s comprehensive safety features and elegant style have helped garner some impressive accolades like the NHTSA Overall 5-Star Crash Safety Rating, Autobytel Minivan of the Year title, IIHS Top Safety Pick, J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) award in the mini-van segment and 2016 AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle award in the mini-van segment.

In looks, the new Grand Carnival takes up a contemporary styling and proportions that offer all of the functional convenience of the segment while defying its design limitations. In addition to innovative design, the new Grand Carnival also delivers the exceptional interior volume with ample passenger and cargo room and a quiet and comfortable cabin with a full range of driver-oriented and family-friendly features.

Under the hood, the new Grand Carnival incorporates an R 2.2 CRDi VGT Turbo Diesel Engine for an output of 193 PS and 440 Nm of torque. The powertrain is also made up of a torque converter six-speed automatic transmission.

The new Kia Grand Carnival comes with an abundance of safety features and driver technology such as; Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Brake Assist System (BAS), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Antilock Braking System (ABS), six airbags, safety power windows and ISOFIX lock-in child seats.

Although the new Kia MPV hasn’t been officially price tagged, Naza Kia Malaysia has made bookings available at the Malaysia Autoshow and Kia dealerships nationwide.
