New Nissan Serena S-Hybrid

Nissan Malaysia (Edaran Tan Chong Motor) has announced the fifth-generation Serena S-Hybrid, which is promptly available for bookings. The model is due for official unveiling in May.

The New Nissan Serena S-Hybrid follows it predecessors in a 2.0l (MR20DD) Twin CVTC (Continuously Variable-valve Timing Control) engine, paired with XTRONIC CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC); power output is now at 150PS / 6,000rpm with a torque of 200Nm / 4,400rpm. Adoption of the new Dual Arm Tensioner (DAT) produces a lower tension on the arm belt to reduce power lost and increase fuel efficiency.

The powertrain equipped in the latest Serena S-Hybrid is a compact hybrid system. It mounts an upgraded version of the ECO motor that controls the Idling Stop system and provides additional torque assist in start-up acceleration. It also acts as an alternator to facilitate energy recuperation during deceleration and braking.

Improvements to the engine have resulted in the best-in-class fuel economy of 14.2 km/l (NEDC R101) earning the Serena S-Hybrid the Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) status.

The latest Serena S-Hybrid takes a revolutionary step forward with an array of Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) features, which includes first in its class Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM), 4 cameras that provide a 360° bird’s-eye view of the vehicle for easier navigation. Intelligent Moving Object Detection (I-MOD) that detects moving objects surrounding the vehicle to alert the driver. Additionally, hands-free Dual Power Sliding doors that operate by a simple quick kick below the door to open or close. 7 seater captain seats with 7 USB-Powered Ports for each passenger’s electronic device charging needs.

Nissan Serena S-Hybrid safety comes first

6 SRS Airbags now comes standard in the All-New NISSAN Serena S-Hybrid, and other safety features includes Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and Child Seat Retainer with Top Tether (ISOFIX x2).

The New Nissan Serena S-Hybrid is available for viewing in selected shopping malls from 3 April onwards. At these island displays and roadshows, members of the public can also download a special augmented reality application (available on Android and IOS) to preview the vehicle in real-time with a digital tour of the Serena S-Hybrid.
