With the recent change in Malaysia’s governing policies, several car companies have already embarked to eliminate the GST (Goods Service Tax) from the cars’ standard prices. Effective from 1 June, Volkswagen Malaysia has released new prices for all models:

UMW Toyota Motor releases new price list
UMW Toyota Motor also announced its new price structure for models across the board. The company assured all its customers that any relief and benefit from the new tax structure will be fully passed on to its customers and any price revision will be considered in the best interest of its customers.
Proton does its bid
National carmakers Proton followed suit by announcing an interim pricing scheme for buyers. There is a major current campaign initiated, the ‘Zero’ campaign. With immediate effect, all Proton cars sold and registered from 16 May to 31 May will include service vouchers equivalent in value to the difference between the current and new price of the car after GST is zero rated. Additionally, Proton customer care is offering a 6% discount on periodical maintenance (labor and periodical maintenance parts only) to all owners who bring their car in for servicing at authorized service centers. This service initiative will commence on 19 May to 31 May and customers servicing their cars from 16-18 May, will be given a 6% discount at their next scheduled service (subject to showing the receipt from their previous service).
In addition, the Iriz (Executive and Premium variant), Ertiga (all variants) and Exora (all variants) are available for up to 9-year loan tenures with Hong Leong Bank’s zero interest financing for the first year. The Saga or Persona get a 7-year loan from Proton Commerce, including free 3-months installment. All are subjected to terms and conditions.
Honda Malaysia absorbs GST
Honda Malaysia has announced that the company would absorb the GST for customers. who had purchase selected Honda models during the period of 18 May – 31 May. Plus, customers will get the on-going “Welcome Ramadhan Rewards” or Honda bonus. Honda models entitled for the GST Bonus are City (Petrol Variants), Civic, CR-V and HR-V. Other Honda models namely Jazz, BR-V, Accord, Odyssey, Civic Type R, Jazz Hybrid and City Hybrid are not entitled to the GST Bonus but only entitled to the on-going “Welcome Ramadhan Rewards”. From 1 June, Honda M’sia will release the full pricing for all its models.
