|At the advent of Smart Watches, Nissan has jumped into the bandwagon by introducing the Nismo Concept Watch at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show.|
Aesthetically, the Nissan Nismo Smart watch is inspired by a circular Nismo ring design. Depicting a design that’s seamless, futuristic and ergonomic, the wearer engages the two buttons located at the usual points and fastens the ‘snap-fit’ watch to the wrist. A lithium battery powers the smart watch up 7-days on a normal use, while charging is via a micro-USB.
The Nissan Nismo Concept watch offers a sort of biometric training tools that include performance analysis featuring the brainwave technology and JukeRide. To simplify, the Nissan smart watch actually captures live biometric and telematics data from the race cars or Nismo Athletes during races and projects the data on the watch.
The Concept watch connects the driver to the various functions of the car and the aforementioned real-time biometric data. Wearers can track vehicle efficiency, average speed and fuel consumption via the car’s telematics and performance data. As far as the biometric tracking goes, the Concept watch relays ECG (Electrocardiogram) heart rate information, Brainwave on levels of concentration and emotions, and skin temperature.
In addition, the Nismo Concept smart watch is linked to the car either through a smartphone app or Bluetooth Low Energy; it even sends messages about the car to the wearer. Social bugs would happy to note that the watch allows the wearer to access popular social media sites through the Nissan Social Speed software.
Gareth Dunsmore, Marketing Communications General Manager, Nissan in Europe, commented: “Wearable technology is fast becoming the next big thing and we want to take advantage of this innovative technology to make our Nismo Brand more accessible.”
“On track, Nissan uses the latest biometric training technologies to improve the performance of our Nismo Athletes and it is this technology we want to bring to our fans to enhance their driving experience and Nismo ownership,” he added.
The Nismo Concept smart Watch is available in three colors: black, white and the flagship black and red.
