Official debut of Mazda CX-3 in Malaysia set for 8 December

2015 Mazda CX-3 roll out in Thailand Bermaz Motor (Mazda Malaysia) has just announced that Mazda’s newest Compact Crossover, the CX-3, is due for arrival on 8 December. As pre-bookings for the Mazda CX-3 have already been in full force since its initial South East Asian release, the domestic introduction is most appropriate to welcome the newest member into the Zoom-zoom family.

The new Mazda CX-3 is the fifth variant in the Hiroshima based manufacturer’s new-generation line-up to feature full range of SKYACTIV Technology and the KODO – Soul of Motion design. As a compact crossover SUV, the Mazda CX-3 offers all the essentials people look for in a Crossover or compact SUV: quality, stylish design; ease-of-use and responsive driving performance.

The Mazda CX-3 was first launched in Japan in February, this year,  followed by key market roll outs in North America, Europe and Australia. The domestically available Mazda CX-3 is built in Thailand under the stewardship of the Mazda-AAT (Auto Alliance Thailand) partnership. Mazda-AAT also supply the current Mazda2 for Malaysia, in case anyone didn’t already know.

On exterior, the CX-3 resembles the current CX-5 rather closely. Just like the CX-5, albeit in a smaller package; the CX-3 has that familiar 5-point front grille. The CX-3s front grille has seven fins with silver-painted front edges, plus a solid metal 3-D signature wing.

Inside, cabin trimmings and overall details have been tuned to match the CX-3’s dynamic exterior. Surrounding character line and high beltline along with the sculpted 3-D form of the door trim give an impression of a sense of snugness and openness at the front. All information displays and control systems are positioned in accordance with a driver-oriented design based on the heads-up cockpit (HMI) concept. Further details will be tabulated right after the domestic launch…

The Japan-spec Mazda CX-3 is offered in a 1.5l diesel engine variation, paired to either a SKYACTIV-D auto transmission or SKYACTIV-MT manual transmission, plus a new-generation all-wheel drive system, the i-ACTIV AWD. Further details will be tabulated right after the domestic launch…

Mazda Malaysia has provided a price estimate of the CX-3, which is set from a staring point of RM 120,000.
