|Perodua, last week, sealed an agreement with Yayasan Melaka to acquire a piece of 1.77 hectare land at Kota Hang Tuah Jaya, Ayer Keroh, Malacca. The land has been acquired to build a new Perodua 3s (sales, service and spare parts ) center.|
Perodua chose the Kota Hang Tuah Jaya vicinity due to its strategic location and State Government’s future developments in the area, which will increase the investment value two-fold in years to come.
The newly acquired vicinity which cost RM7.7 million will be incorporated with a Malacca-themed 3s facility. In addition, the facility will house a regional office, training center for staff and dealers, human capital development division, body and part center, and stockyard. 25 service bays have been allocated within the facility for 2,500 service intakes per month. While, the body and paint center will further add 5 bays to bring the total service bays to 30 within the new 3s center. Construction of the new 3s center in Malacca is slated to start in the 3rd quarter of next year and to be completed by the final quarter of the following year.
Perodua currently has two branches, along with 5 sales outlets, in Malacca. Malacca contributes 550 units of Peroduas per month and holds a 35% market share for a five-year period, one of the leading states in Malaysia. In 2010, some 6,400 units were sold in the historical state, with the VIVA as the marque’s top selling variant. In the After-sales books, some 42,700 units were recorded for last year, a 4% increase from the previous fiscal year.
