Perodua also updated the press that their sole MPV variant, which is tagged “The Alza for Everyone” this year, contributed 23 percent of the total sales last year. The company intends to increase the Alza’s contribution figures to 26 percent this time around, with the refreshed models joining the line-up. Since its debut in 2009 till December last year, the Alza contributed 167,000 units to Perodua’s total sales pie chart.
2014 Perodua Alza: A compact MPV with an attitude
The Perodua Alza is available in a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission standard, and auto. transmission only S.E. and Advanced options. A 1.5-liter engine is inherited from the previous edition. On looks, potential buyers’d notice that Perodua has prepped the MPV up with a chrome front grille. retractable side windows with turn signal, rear door garnish and alloy wheels. S.E. and Advanced Alzas get well put together body kits and side mouldings for more impact on the road.
Interior-wise, the 2014 Alza standard takes on a two-tone scheme and the usual fabric seats. A 50/50 split folding third seat is included for easy occupant accessibility and boot load convenience. And that’s more, the S.E. and Advanced versions get a more brighter black monotone cabin and leather wrapped steering with audio switches. Elsewhere, there is an in-car entertainment that plays multimedia files and allows Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. Safety comes first in this compact MPV with the factory fitted and standard equipment like; dual airbags, ABS with EBD & BA, ISOFIX in the second tow seats, seat belt alarm and anti-theft alert.
Perodua Alza 2014: price and availability
To provide a headstart to the year, Perodua has announced a price reduction for its hot selling MPV of between 2.1 – 7.4 percent. The Alza is offered in five shades; Ivory White, Ebony Black, Glittering Silver, Mystical Purple and a new shade Passion Red; only for the S.E. and Advanced versions. Pricings start from RM 52,400 (down from 53,517) for a standard manual Alza to RM 64,000 (reduced from 69,517) for an Advanced Alza. All prices include a 3-year warranty and supposedly on-the-road with insurance.
