Peugeot has reported a 15 percent spike in worldwide sales for the first half of the year. Parent company PSA Group also posted a worldwide sales increase of 2.3 percent, as at the end of June.

With 1,025 000 units sold by end of June and a 15% increase in worldwide sales, Peugeot is on track to meet its target figure of 2 million vehicle sales for the year. Group sales outside Europe rose by 46%. They now account for 41% of group sales worldwide, which is in line with the 2017 objective of achieving 45% of sales outside Europe and with the commitment to reaching 50% of sales outside Europe by 2020.

This sales performance is driven by the entire model range, particularly the new 3008 SUV. The new Peugeot 3008 SUV, which has received 28 awards including the prestigious “2017 Car of The Year” award has beaten all records in terms of the international order book with 205,000 orders since launch and 114,900 sales in the first half-year.

This success has spilled over on to the other SUVs in the range. For the first half of 2017, Peugeot 2008 is no.2 in its market segment. Since its launch at the beginning of 2017, the new Peugeot 5008 SUV has already recorded 21,400 sales.

In the commercial sector, LCV sales have risen by 12%, boosted by the new, high-performance Peugeot Expert, plus Peugeot Partner and Boxer.

TThe sales offensive will continue in the second half of 2017 with the launch of new Peugeot 308 in September.

PSA Group records overall increase in worldwide sales

PSA Group (Groupe PSA) continued its product offensive launched in 2016 as part of its strategic plan for profitable growth “Push to Pass”: 31 of the 121 launches presented in the plan will take place before the end of 2017 in the six regions in which the Group operates.

The new Peugeot 3008 has registered 205,000 orders since its launch and 114,900 sales in the first half of the year, followed by the 5008 with 21,400 units.

The new Citroen C3 registered 120,000 sales in the first half of the year, increasing C3 orders by 68% since the beginning of the year. A total of almost 160,000 sales has now been recorded for this new model since its launch. The appeal of this model is confirmed by the 25+ awards received and a client rating of 4.7 stars (out of 5) on Citroën Advisor.

In the LCV segment, the Citroen Jumpy aling with the Peugeot Expert have strengthened PSA leadership in Europe even further, and with the Peugeot Traveller and Citroen SpaceTourer PC versions, provide positive levers for the Group to gain greater market shares outside its historical territories.

Upcoming PSA Group launches include the 308, two new Citroen SUV models (C3 Aircross in Europe and C5 Aircross in China) and the DS 7 CROSSBACK SUV.
