Honda Malaysia has announced the pre-arrival of the all-new Jazz prior its official domestic premiere in the next week or so. Now into its third generation, the new Jazz still carries the “Man Maximum, Machine Minimum” philosphy from the previous generation.

The new Jazz’s “Man maximum, Machine minimum” concept means extra space and comfort for all occupants. At the same time, the 3rd-gen Jazz has been upped slightly in terms of length, now 3,955 mm (up 55mm from the previous generation Jazz), while height and width both decrease by 1 mm at 1,524 mm and 1,694 mm for a more compact and fuller outlook.

Exterior-wise, the new Jazz is gifted a new identity of the “Solid Wing Face”, based on the H design. The new refinements are brought forth to the inside as well, including features like a “Futuristic” cockpit, fresh cabin layout, 7-inch display, Touch-panel Auto Air-conditioning, 9 Cup Holders and more to be uncovered as soon as the new Jazz makes its debut. Features like the central fuel tank and Ultra seats with rear recliners have been transferred to the new Jazz from the previous edition.

The new Jazz is offered in three variants: the Jazz S, Jazz E and Jazz V. All versions are powered by the enhanced 1.5L SOHC i-VTEC engine, paired to the CVT transmission, for a maximum power 120PS @ 6,600 rpm and maximum torque 145Nm @ 4,600 rpm. Safety features are aplenty in the new Jazz, such as the VSA, Emergency Start-Stop signal, Hill Stop Assist, ample airbags, to name but a few.

The locally-assembled Jazz or CKD variant has contributed some 6,770 units to Honda Malaysia’s total sales portfolio since its introduction nearly a year ago. Comparatively, the CBU Jazz Petrol sales for 5 years prior to 2013 averaged at about 650 units a year.

Bookings are now made available at all Honda dealerships from 1 – 15 July. For a limited period, new Jazz buyers have the privileges of a low interest rate of 2.53% and a chance to win a trip to the Maldives.
