Proton 7-day Service
Proton owners rejoice as the National carmaker’s service centers are now opened 7 days, Monday through Sunday! Proton has announced its latest after-sales efforts with the 7-day operations at selected service centers, beginning 6 August. At the same time, the National carmakers announced price reduction of Spare parts’ prices.

As part of Proton’s customers First drive, the domestic auto marque has been intensifying its efforts to improve its after sales services. The 7-day operations is aimed at reducing customers’ waiting time to service their vehicle and thus, providing additional flexibility for its customers to send their cars for servicing and maintenance during the weekends. “When we started the 7 days operations at selected service outlets prior to this, it was to accommodate normal service and opening hours were only until 12 noon on Sunday. Now, for selected service centers we have extended the opening hours for Sunday up to 5 pm. More importantly, we have also enabled warranty claims to be processed during weekends as opposed to only weekdays previously.” said Ahmad Fuaad Kenali, Proton’s CEO.

Commencing on 6 August, nine service centers will be providing the 7 full-day services inclusive of repairs and warranty claims. The 9 service centers identified are in Plentong (Johor Bahru), Peringgit (Malacca) Senawang (Negeri Sembilan), Temerloh (Pahang), Alor Setar (Kedah), Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman KL, Ipoh (Perak), Juru (Seberang Prai Penang), Mutiara Damansara and Proton’s HQ Center of Excellence in Shah Alam. From 1 October, additional fourteen service centers will follow suit and four more centers to start from 1 December. The business hours for all these outlets are from 8 am to 5 pm, Mondays to Sundays. To ensure availability of service slots, customers are advised to make appointments at their most accessible outlets, although walk-ins are still acceptable.

To boost customers’ satisfaction and encourage more consitent servicing by owners, Proton has kick-started price revisions on 1 August for selected spare parts such as the turbocharger, ECU and transmission assemblies. The review of the parts prices is to encourage customers to use genuine parts that should be installed at all authorized service centers and ultimately assist in improving the cost of ownership for Proton cars. The parts involved in the price review will see about 12% – 30% reduction in parts prices.
