National carmakers Proton has kicked off a safety inspection campaign for upcoming festive break. In collaboration with Petronas, the Proton 20-point safety inspection are predominantly available at selected Petronas stations in several States.
The Proton safety inspection will begin from 2 July and end on 4 July. This complimentary inspection is valid at Petronas stations in the Central, North, South and East Coast regions. The Petronas stations in the central region are the NKVE Subang and Penchala Link venues. Up North, Proton owners can perform inspections at Petronas Taman Nilam Sari, Sungai Petani, Kedah; Bandar Anak Bukit, Alor Setar, Kedah and Tok Kangar, Juru, Penang.
For the southern region, Petronas station at Air Keroh 3, Peringgit, Malacca and Petronas Bakri 2, Muar, Johor are the places to go for the free inspections. East coast folks are advised to bring their cars to Petronas station at Bentong R & R, Pahang; Gambang Arah Timur, Kuantan and Taman Guchil Jaya, Kuala Krai, Kelantan.
Admad Fuaad Kenali, CEO of Proton, said, “We were only present in 5 Petronas stations in 2015 for this safety awareness initiative by Proton and due to the increased awareness among owners, we were able to expand the safety inspection services to seven stations during the CNY festive season last February. Thanks to the support and trust in us, Petronas has further expanded our reach to ten stations this time around, so that we are able to provide the free safety inspection to more Proton owners, especially those who frequent major highways for their madrush-back-to-hometown (balik kampung) journey.”
The 20-point safety inspection include checks on the brake system, suspension, tyres, battery, wiper blades, belts, lighting and also fluid levels such as engine oil, brake fluid, coolant and wiper washer. In the spirit of festivities, Proton owners will also be given a goodie bag each with a pack of snacks (kuih) and mineral water as a token of appreciation for the support when they get their cars inspected at any of Petronas station. The Proton safety inspection campaign is part of an on-going nationwide safety campaign. This campaign is concurrently available at all Proton authorized service centers, nationwide.
