National carmakers Proton has updated the press with another courteous announcement; this time it is the Northern State’s upgraded 3S center.
The Proton 3S Center operated by Autobinee Oriental has gotten an upgrade and became the first Proton dealership in the State to acquire Proton’s new Corporate Identity. As a 3S Center, the dealership offers sales, service and spare parts.
The Proton-Autobinee is centrally located and easily accessible within the Island State. The refurbished dealership, which saw an investment of RM 1 million, has a built up area of 703 square meters, 4 bays and 4 hoists. Autobinee is a pioneer Proton dealer in the State, since 1989. “The upgrading of the outlet is very important as we value our customers. There are amenities such as free WiFi, beverages, a customer lounge as well as ample car park space for their convenience,” Chairman of Autobinee Yeap Teow Teong remarked.
Proton’s performance up North
The Northern region continues to be one of the leading contributors to Proton’s performance in local automotive scene. From January to July this year, the region saw sales of more than 9800 cars, an increase of over 36%, compared to the same period last year. In the state of Penang alone, there was an increase of over 38% year-to-date versus the same period last year. These numbers were largely contributed by popularity of the X70, Persona and Saga.
Proton has rebounded in 2019 to tally as many as 52,269 units, an increase of 47%. The Chinese connection has been good for the Malaysian carmakers which saw a plethora of models introduced after the highly well-received X70, namely the Persona, Iriz, Exora and Saga. Other areas contributing to a good cause are efficient cost control, improved quality and an effective network strategy. They’ve recently announced the jump to runner-up spot in the TIV (Total Industry Volume). Follow us for more Proton scoops in the near future…
