Renault Megane GT presented with an elegant and modular demeanor

Renault has introduced the new Megane GT, a sportier and more dynamic representation of the Estate. The new Reanult Megane GT Estate is available for selected global markets. Bearing a stark semblance to the hatchback or sedan version, the front has a familiar signature outlook. The rear of the wagon incorporates unique combination lights, a spoiler to bring up its dynamism and bumper skid plate for a rugged appeal.

The Renault Megane GT Estate is obviously longer with a 4,626 mm length and a wheelbase of 2,712 mm. Short front and rear overhangs meant that the Megane Estate with measurements of 919 mm and 995 mm presents a similar modular look when compared to the hatch/sedan (saloon) version.

The inside of the Megane Estate takes up similar refinements as the hatchback/sedan version, but more importantly with expanded cabin dimensions: Knee radius on the second row at 216 mm, front shoulder width at 1,441 mm, rear shoulder width at 1,377 mm, 14 degrees headroom on 1st and 2nd rows, interior width between wheel arches at 1,109 mm, trunk entrance height at 700 mm and a maximum load length (from trunk door to folded rear seats) at 1,754 mm.

Available in five petrol variants, the Megane Estate is fitted with TCe100 (manual 6-speed), SCe 15 (manual 5-speed), TCe 130 (manual 6-speed), TCe 130 EDC and TCe 205 EDC. Both the TCe 130 EDC and 205 EDC are fitted with a dual clutch 7-speed automatic transmission. The engines range from 1.0-liter until 1.6 displacements, with output varying 74 kW till 151 kW and 175 – 280 Nm of torque.

Depending on powertrains, the Renault Megane Estate can reach a top speed between 179 until 230 km/h, yet offering a frugal fuel consumption of 5.4l/100 km until 6 l/100 km on a combined cycle. Emissions are kept honest between 120 – 134 g/km.

The base Megane Estate and mid-range variants takes up an electrical Power Steering, while the top-tiered Megane Estate is bound to a Mechanical steering and assisted rack and pinion.

Renault Megane Estate is scheduled for arrival by the end of the year at selected International markets.
