Having already introduced the all-electric Renault ZOE into the Malaysian market, TC Euro Cars continue to prime themselves in the soon-to-be-realized electric mobility era, with the launch of the personal and chic Renault Twizy (Twist and Easy). The Renault Twizy takes on a unique single-seater design and is offered in two versions: one version for an occupant and the other for an occupant with a compact cargo space at the rear. Obviously known for its zero emissions, zero pollution policy, the Twizy, an essential four-wheel personal transporter, is 2340 mm in length and 1230 mm in width, while carrying a gross weight tag of only 450 kilograms. The monopod-shaped Twizy is instilled 13-inch wheels and 125/80 R13 front, 145/80R13 rear tyres.
On the inside, the Twizy has several storage compartments, one underneath the rear seat and the others on the dashboard’s right and left sides. The simple, yet subtle dashboard makes driving a breeze, while amenities like Bluetooth connectivity, USB, Audio jack and 12V enable some driving pleasure to go along.
Powered by an able electric motor and a 6.1kWh lithium ion battery, the Twizy produces 17 horsepowers with a torque rating of 57 nm at 0 – 2100rpm. Power is transferred to the wheels via an automatic transmission, and the maximum range for the Twizy (on a full charge) is 100 km, based on NEDC test. Charging is performed by connecting the plug under the front seat, on 230/240V outlets. Full charge is recommended for a duration of 3 1/2 hours.
Renault Megane 265 Cup and 275 Trophy-R
Two of most able Front-wheel drive compact sports cars in the world come in the form of the Renault Megane 265, which was later taken over by the Megane 275 Trophy-R. As a matter of fact, the Megane 275 Trophy-R recently smashed the Nurburgring lap record and heralded as the fastest front-wheel ever.
The Renault Megane 265 Cup replaces the defunct 255 Cup with more exterior updates such as; a new Renault identity, new headlights with black eyelids, front F1-inspired spoiler with LED 6-light fixture, boot with gloss black background, 18-inch Tibor wheels and an RS rear spoiler.
Interior refinements which hallmarked the 265 Cup as a track worthy speedster are aplenty, including red details and stitches on the dashboard, red highlight seatbelts, RS door silll, Recardo bucket seats and RS embroidered headrests. For multimedia and entertainment, the package include the R-Link multimedia tablet for real-time display and vehicle data as well as the 7-inch touchscreen with reverse camera.
As the variant’s codename entails, the 265 Cup hits 265 hp (195 kW) at 5,500 rpm, while achieving 360 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Paired to a manual 6-speed transmision, the 265 Cup can reach 255 km/h top speed and does 0 – 100 km/h in 6 seconds.
If the 265 Cup isn’t a beast enough for you, then go for the 275 Trophy-R; the most powerful and exclusive Megane of them all. The Megane T=R has a two-toned bodywork, Pearl white and a black roof, and is combined to red F1-style splitter, stripes and chequered flag graphics. As a track car, the 275 T-R is fitted with 19-inch Speedline Turini wheels and Michelin Pilot 19-inchers.
Moving to the inside, Recaro buckets (single-piece polycarbonate) in black and upholstered in leather and Alcantara are standard, as are the R-Link tablet and R.S. Monitor with replay function.
Again typical of the Megane line-up, output capacity follows that of the numeric denomination for the variant; in this case 275 hp, 10 percent more power extracted from the 2.0-liter turbocharged powerplant. Torque pushes up to 360 Nm, between 3,000 – 5,000 rpm.
For the Malaysian market, TC Euro Cars have made available the Nurburgring pack for the 275 T-R, which comprises: large brake discs (350 mm), lithium ion battery, Sabelt harnesses, spare wheel covers (4) and retaining strap.
TC Euro Cars is distributing the Renault Twixy at recommended retail prices of RM 71,888 and 73,888 (Cargo). The Megane 265 Cup and Megane Trophy-R are up for RM 234,888 and 299,888, respectively, minus insurance and other charges.
