Lotus, Ferrari and Koenigsegg do not need a formal introduction as the three big supercar/hypercar brands are showcasing their latest and most desirable hypercars yet, at the upcoming Salon Prive.
Let’s start with Lotus: the all-electric Lotus Evija is one of the main highlights of the show. The Evija boasts class-leading in-gear acceleration and a target output of 2,000 PS, making it the most powerful series production road car ever built.
The Evija has been designed and engineered in the U.K. Production will begin in 2021 in a new factory in Hethel, the historic Norfolk home of Lotus since 1966.
Ferrari SF90 Stradale
The Ferrari SF90 Stradale hypercar will be making its anticipated debut in Malaysia in mid-September, The SF90 is a plug-in hybrid hypercar, slated for showcase at the Salon Prive.
With its V8 internal-combustion engine working in tandem with three electric motors, it puts out 986bhp. The fact that it can also be driven using only electric power is proof of its status as a revolutionary new flagship model from the Prancing Horse brand.
Koenigsegg Gemera is hailed as the world’s first ‘mega GT’ and is engineered to provide immense performance but with a spacious interior and next-generation environmental technology.
The Gemera’s two-liter, three-cylinder engine is able to run on conventional petrol as well as the latest CO2-neutral renewable fuels. It pushes 0 – 100 km/h in a little over 2 seconds.
Alongside the big three are two other newcomers, namely the Aspark Owl, first Japanese fully electric hypercar, with an impressive acceleration of 0-100 km/h in less than 2s, and the Tushek TS-900.
The Aspark Owl has a limited production run of just 50 cars. The TS-900 is made by Slovenian manufacturer. It features a hybrid powertrain comprising a rear-mounted 4.2-liter V8 and a pair of electric motors that drive the front wheels.
Other Salon Prive highlights include: a hybrid powertrain that produces 609 hp featured in the Polestar 1 and the five-door, all-electric Polestar 2.
