The Porsche Driving school, including flight and accommodation for two, presents the new owner who buy a new pre-configured 911 Carrera or 911 Carrera S from now till 31 January with the opportunity to horn their driving skills and discover the sports car’s true dynamism at Mt. Cotton course. This also includes one participation for Level 1 and 2 training program with the Porsche Sport Driving School Australia.

Since 1974, the Porsche Sport Driving School’s mission is to provide Porsche enthusiasts and owners a venue to improve driving skills and enable them to develop certain advanced driving styles. Experience at the Porsche Sport Driving School, enables customers to push a Porsche to its limit while learning to be in control at all times. Participants in Precision (Level 1) will learn the basics of mastering the vehicle and the correct respond to critical situations that may occur at any time in road traffic including braking, correct steering control and swerving to avoid sudden obstacles. Following which, Precision Plus (Level 2) focuses on sport driving skill sets.

The 911 Carrera which was introduced in February last year becomes the ultimate choice for trainees at the Porshe Sport Driving School grounds due to the car’s daily driving practicality, aluminium-steel lightweight body, and exemplary drivetrain and updated suspension systems.

Exterior-wise, the 911 Carrera has a longer wheelbase and wider tracks. especially at the front. This meant sure-footed tracking and roll stability at high longitudinal and cornering speeds. Though overall looks of new 911 differ ever slightly from its previous edition, the sports car features new styling, larger alloy wheels and coupe-like silhouette when viewed from the side and rear. Compared to its predecessor, the latest 911 covers an overall length of just 4.5 meters and an unchanged maximum width of approximately 1.8 meters.

To augment the new exterior, Porsche designers created an interior architecture which takes its cue from the Porsche Carrera GT. The driver is integrated more closely with the cockpit, made possible by the center console that rises up to the front with the high-mounted gear lever or gear selector located close to the steering wheel in typical motorsport fashion. The classic and noteworthy Porsche refinements include the 5-round instruments with the centrally-located rev counter and the ignition lock to the left of the steering wheel.

Direct injection in the engine is now provided by multi-hole injectors, which accomplishes smooth running and exemplary power by improving mixture formation. Through new aluminium camshaft positioners, the weight of each engine has been reduced by about one kilogram and the possible maximum engine speed was raised to 7,800 rpm. In a nutshell, the new 911 engine is up to 16 percent more economical and up to 15 hp more powerful than the former edition. With the Carrera S as well, with its 3.8-liter boxer engine and what is now 400 hp, fuel consumption when paired with the optional PDK is reduced by 14 percent.

The Porsche 911 Carrera runs for RM 800,000 onwards, starting with the base variant. SDAP also includes a 4-year free maintenance and warranty program. For more information, drop by the Porsche Center at Glenmarie or Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur.
