Shell easiGO Prepaid Card is the right direction towards cashless transactions

 Shell Prepaid card GO Shell Malaysia has just introduced the easiGO American Express Prepaid Card by Maybank for motorists and normal users. The Shell easiGO AMEX Prepaid card is a three-way partnership between the world’s leading fuel brand, American Express and Maybank.

The Shell easiGO prepaid card provides a secure, smarter and convenient cashless payment method at the fuel pumps and for online purchases or similar types of payment requirements. Further to that, the easiGO prepaid card gives the cardholder loads of added benefits and rewards, including complimentary 1st-year Disabiliy Personal Accident insurance of up to RM15,000 and 10% discount on Shell Lubricants. Designed specially to speed up the refuelling process at Shell stations, the easiGO prepaid card enables motorists and motorcyclists to fuel up quicker and save precious time.

Two types of Shell easiGO prepaid card are conceived to cater to motorists and motorcyclists. Customers will be able to enjoy the flexibility and convenience of cashless transactions and manage their finances better by deciding how much they want to spend on their easiGO prepaid card. Besides being able to pay for products and services at Shell, customers are able to use their Shell easiGO prepaid cards at any merchants, accepting AMEX; much like a credit or debit card.

In addition, cardholders will enjoy double reward points programs, namely Maybank Treatpoints at the earn rate of 1 point for every RM3 spent, and BonusLink points at an earn rate of 1 point for every liter of Shell fuel. For easy convenience, easiGO prepaid cardholders will be able to reload or top-up value at 950 Shell stations across the country and 3,000 Maybank ATMs or cash deposit machines nationwide. Furthermore, they’d be able to add more value via online funds transfer at or Interbank GIRO services. At the same time, cardholders will be able to withdraw cash from any Maybank ATMs at no additional charge and check card balance through text messaging, the Maybank webpage or Maybank ATMs everywhere.

The easiGO prepaid card’s starter pack is valued at RM 15, with maximum reload limit prefix at RM5,000 and minimum reload is RM 10. However, the card’s maximum cash withdrawal for a day is set at RM1,000. Also, there’s an annual fee of RM6, applicable from year two. In conjunction with the introduction of Shell easiGo prepaid card, new applicants are entitled to stand a chance to win cash prizes totalling RM450,000 by simply spending a minimum of RM5 with their prepaid cards at Shell. The campaign is scheduled to run for 3 months, with some 1,500 winners expected to get cash credited into their prepaid cards. So, hurry on to your nearest Shell station and apply for one!

Shell M’sia expects to achieve 80,000 new signups in the next 6 months and is confident that the easiGO prepaid card would be able to appeal to a broader range at customers, especially those who are looking for alternative payment methods beyond credit and debit card facilities.
