Sony Vision-S Concept takes limelight at CES 2020

At the 2020 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, Sony has announced its presence in future of mobility with the Vision-S EV Concept.

The Vision-S Concept is based on three key pillars as its core foundation: Safety, Entertainment and Adaptability. This concept is a fusion of Sony’s technology and creativity.

In looks, the Vision-S resembles a ‘Grand Tourer’s form with typical long hood, extended front bumper and a fastback, coupe-like rear. An elongated single Light strip, minus a front grille, integrates the slim LED headlights rather seamlessly. The profile is rather athletic with sculpted shoulder lines. From the rear,,the sleek taillights with a one-piece strip and blacked-out lower bumper give the concept its sporty character. If that’s not a GT definition, then the 21-inch wheels front and rear will convince you otherwise.

The interior of the Vision-S offers a secure and comfort proposition – Sony “Safety Cocoon” cabin. Just sitting in it evokes excitement. In the forthcoming self-driving era, the basic foundation of comfort will be supported by safety and security: the ability to take precautions far more thoroughly, more carefully and faster than humans. Additionally, the monitoring system checks on passengers on inside and other objects on the outside, as well as assist in driving and parking.

When it comes to interactivity and connectivity, the Vision-S is all about the IoT (Internet-of-Things). It comes loaded with Vision-S Link, a cabin with personalization and an updatable system.

The concept has a long wheelbase but it is also made up of a compact and flexible powertrain layout. As an EV, Sony incorporates ultrathin battery packs to give the cabin a best-in-class feel. Finally, the EV platform enables its application for various uses and car types. Its architecture E/E system is designed to support constant monitoring through connectivity that is enabled by a 5G network and over-the-air (OTA) system updates.
