Subaru Malaysia (Motor Image M’sia) has unveiled two latest models for the domestic market, the Levorg Sports Tourer and XV Crosstrek. The two new models are currently on tour at the Mid-Valley Megamall in the Capital City.

The new Subaru Levorg comes with a newly-developed Subaru’s 1.6-liter Direct Injection Turbo (DIT) Boxer engine, as well as the famed Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD). On its debut in the country, the Subaru Levorg 1.6GT-S has a price tag of RM199,720, minus insurance.

The Levorg is inspired by the EJ25 (2.5l NA) powerplant found in the Legacy 2.5i. The new 1.6-liter Horizontally-Opposed DIT boxer engine offers both brisk driving pleasure and superb fuel performance of 7.4-liter/100km, combined. Fuel efficiency is enhanced by Subaru’s first adoption of DIT combined with a low displacement engine. Turbo lag is also almost non-existent with peak torque of 250 Nm being delivered at 1,800rpm all the way to 4,800rpm.

In design, the Levorg’s sleek styling befits a sports tourer but cargo space remains functional and roomy, designed with the expertise gained from years of developing wagons. While keeping the exterior size nimble, the Levorg has achieved the largest cargo space of 522 liters. The front bumper features Subaru’s unique hexagon grille and hawk eye headlights with high-beam assist. Other exterior motifs include a plush interior with finesse obvious in even the smallest parts, maximized utility, first-class comfort, and an exhilarating experience.

Both the active and passive safety features in the Levorg have also been enhanced. Subaru has been refining and upgrading the Symmetrical AWD for years. With Symmetrical AWD, combined with an advanced Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system and Active Torque Vectoring (ATV), an exceptional all-round safety was achieved providing drivers with security and confidence.

Additionally, the Subaru Levorg is installed with the Emergency Stop Signal which quickly flashes the hazard warning lights when the vehicle makes an abrupt deceleration from high speed. It also warns the cars behind it of rapid approach and collision risk. To protect pedestrians, the front hood and bulkhead are built in an impact-absorbing structure and impact absorbents are placed in the engine compartment side.
