|Suzuki Malaysia last weekend held a special “Rock the Road 2013” customer convoy to inaugurate its latest Swift version, the Suzuki Swift RR.|
Some 40 to 50 Suzuki Swifts from the domestic Swift clubs took part in the convoy that traversed from SMA’s (Suzuki Malaysia Automobile) 4S Center at Setia Gemilang through the North-South Highway to its final destination at the Lost World of Tambun in the Northern City of Ipoh.
Suzuki Swift RR stars at 2013 SMA Rock the Road 2013 roadtrip
The Suzuki Swift RR, based on SMA’s current best selling variant, is gifted plenty of desirable exterior motifs, namely the limited edition tag, fresh styling overall, and definitive graphics that spruce up the entire compact to appease the young, dangerous and adventurous. A glance at the front entails a protruding lip or front spoiler and black-striped front bumper that augurs well with the black mesh grille. The chequered flag graphics is extended from the tip of the hood to the rear for that sporty dynamism. The graphics at the side extend from the front feeder and top out at the rear wheel arches, while the side skirt simply adds more appeal to the already well-built compact. In all, the Swift RR has a 4-piece body kit that also includes a roof spoiler and the improved rear bumper. To top it off, SMA has included RR emblems at specific positions and black-accented 15-inch wheels to present further dynamic statements. It is SMA’s intentions to depict the RR version of the Swift as a refreshing and enhanced version of their most popular variant. After all, the Swift is distributed in over 100 countries, and as far as accolades go, the previous Swift garnered 63 Car-of-The-Year awards in 19 countries.
Among the citizens, the Suzuki Swift is the favorite compact hatch because of its lightweight, stylish demeanor and capable handling properties. Even a veteran driver would find the Swift a joy to drive, especially in the city. Inside, the special edition Swift has a touch screen with navigation and reverse camera; which is not included in the regular Swift.
As with the regular Swift, a 1.4-liter petrol engine powers up the Swift RR to a good 95 ps at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque.
According to SMA, the Swift RR is intended to provide the opportunity for more customers to afford the value and outstanding driving dynamics of Suzuki’s most popular compact car. In organizing its inaugural ‘Rock the Road 2013’ roadtrip, SMA Managing Director Keiichi Suzuki reiterated, “The reason we organize this Rock the Road 2013 is to show our gratitude for the strong support we have received from each and every one of you, our customers. Hopefully this could be a catalyst of continuing events of this nature in Suzuki Malaysia Automobile yearly agenda.”
