Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia today introduced an updated variant of its popular pick up line, the Triton. The Triton Quest is the base model of the line-up and is in need of updates long overdue. The line also comprises Triton MT/AT, Triton Premium MT/AT and the top flight Triton Adventure X.
The 2019 Triton Quest is a budget pick up with a price of just under RM 80,000. It is suitable for moving things around in a jiffy, especially with its easy loading cab, close to the ground tailgate. Load capacity is up to 970 kilograms inclusive of passengers and cargo, making it the biggest cargo deck in the low rider category. And thanks to a functional J-Line design rear passengers have enough space without having to compromise on boot space. Plus, there’s a rear seat secret storage compartment and a multi-information display to show important vehicle data.
Another selling point for the Triton Quest is its relatively small turning radius of 5.7m. This is best amongst light pick ups.
A 110PS/200Nm 2.5-liter turbo diesel is retained to provide enough power and pull needed for this light truck.
Fresh for the year, the Triton Quest has a bunch of added features such as seatbelts with pretensioners, Electronic Time and Alarm Control System with Lane Change turn signal system, power window timer, headlight auto off, alarm, auto lock, auto wipers and a 15-second interior light delay. In addition, the pick up has dual airbags, ABS with EBD and a stronger body construction.
The Triton Quest is the most affordable pick-up in the local market and comes with five years warranty or 100,000km.
New additional features for the Triton models
The Triton Adventure X now gets an All Round Monitor, a DVR, side body decals and premium solar and security tint.
Triton AT Premium has DVR, leather seats and 7-Inch touchscreen.
