UMW Toyota Motor garners 3rd straight JD Power SSi accolade

Toyota roadtour at local hotspot UMW Toyota Motor again garnered one of the highest accolades in the automotive industry, the JD Power Malaysia SSI (Sales Satisfaction Index). UMW Toyota Motor thus collected the JD Power SSI recognition for the third straight year.

The JD Power SSI is an annual evaluative survey, conducted by the American global market information company. SSI criterias follow six key factors that contribute to the overall customer satisfaction with their new-vehicle purchase in the mass market segment. These factors include, in order of importance: the salesperson, dealer facility, delivery timing, deal, delivery process and sales initiation. For this year, UMW Toyota Motor has faired the best to fulfill the SSI criterias and subsequently, awarded the JD Power SSI award for a third consecutive season.

This year’s Malaysia JD Power SSI survey has been extracted from 2,371 new vehicle purchasers in the mass market segment. The vehicle purchasers had bought their cars between August 2014 and May 2015, whereas the survey had been ran through February until July this year to generate a lead time to determine the winners. In the JD Power SSI’s final tally, Toyota obtained a score of 791 points, which was above the industry average of 752 points. Their ratings put them at the top of the rankings and above the closest Japanese marques in the country. “Clinching the first spot for three consecutive years gives us great pleasure. It is milestones such as this that continue to inspire and drive us to deliver not only quality products, but an overall meaningful experience with the brand,” Akio Takeyama, Deputy Chairman at UMW Toyota Motor, remarked.

UMW Toyota Motor’s third straight year JD Power SSI recognition is attributed to their philosophy of Toyota’s “Kaizen” terminology, which denotes continuous improvement. Furthermore, it has always been the organization’s practice to improvise and better understand the ever-evolving needs of discerning customers.
