TNB has chosen the Toyota Hilux as the vehicle of choice for its personnel transportation requirement and operational duties due to its durability and value for money factor. The first 100 units of the Hilux has been delivered in the first phase, while the remaining 192 units are on scheduled to be delivered to TNB in pre-determined stages. In all, TNB has bought 292 units of the Toyota Hilux.
According to UMW Toyota Motor’s Mohd Shamsor Mohd Zain, Director of Operation Support Group, “Tenaga Nasional Berhad is the largest Electric utility company in the country and also the largest power company in Southeast Asia. TNB’s core activities are in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. The demand of their day-to-day business operations depend highly on reliable and durable vehicles. Hence, we are sure the Toyota Hilux we supplied met the quality, reliability and specifications required by TNB.”
As part of the company’s commitment to serve customers better, UMW Toyota Motor is expected to continue to support TNB as a valued corporate customer and provide necessary assistance to all of TNB’s requirements. The support scope include dedicated after-sales service, timely delivery and technical training.
The Toyota Hilux is undoubtedly the country’s most sought after pick-up with over 180,000 units of the current generation sold since its introduction in 2005. Its continued position as the market leader in its segment with close to 50% market share is not only due to the versatile and tough appearance but more importantly, a globally proven record of reliability and durability for over 40 years.
The delivery ceremony saw Mohd Shamsor hand over the mock key of the Toyota Hilux to TNB’s Senior General Manager of Procurement and Vendor Management Distribution, Mohd Adibi bin Ambak.
