Audi Malaysia (Euromobil) today added the new A3 Sedan in two variations to its current line-up. The A3 Sedan has been voted this year’s World Car of the Year by the WCA (World Car Awards organization).

The A3 sedan has a coupe-like silhouette that’s packed in a compact body, measuring 1,796mm width, 1,416mm in height, 4,456mm length, and has a 2,637 mm wheelbase. Thanks to lightweight construction comprising hot-formed steel and an aluminium bonnet, the A3 sedan weighs just 1,250 kilograms.

Main highlights to the front of the Audi A3 Sedan

Front fascia of the revised A3 sedan is highlighted by the signature Singleframe grille and xenon + headlights with LED DRLs (daytime running lights). The side and rear of the compact remain rather similar to its predecessor.

Interior-wise, the compact’s most defining element is the “wraparound” dashboard design, which incorporates an innovative three-dimensional inlay concept surrounding the driver and front passenger. Obviously, the trims, seats and relevant interior sentiments comprise of high-quality materials for that exceptional premium feel.

In addition, the MMI operating system has an electronically extending screen; its terminal housed in the console of the center dashboard. It features a 5.8 inch high resolution display screen and to further enhance the driving experience, the new MMI controls are conveniently positioned behind the gear shift. On top of that, the vehicle is also equipped with Audi Music Interface iPod connection, a Driver Information System and the Bluetooth mobile phone interface.

The two engines valid for the A3 sedan are the 1.4 TFSI and 1.8 TFSI with quattro all-wheel drive system, which allow an output of 122 bhp/180 bhp and 200 Nm/250Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with the S tronic transmission, and along with the Audi drive select system, the driver is able to select the four available drive modes: Auto, Dynamic, Comfort and Individual. In terms of fuel consumption and emissions, the 1.4 TFSI A3 sedan has a combined fuel consumption of just 4.9 liters/100km and 109 grams per km, while the 1.8 TFSI does 6.6 liters and 152 g/km. Although the 1.4 TFSI can do 0 – 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds and top out at 205 km/h, the higher A3 sedan manages an even better century sprint in 6.8 secs and a top speed of 235km/h.
