Volkswagen is presenting its Golf line-up for the UEFA EURO 2016 as a promotional bid for the world’s second largest football tournament. At the EURO 2016, fans can view several Volkswagen Golf model series: from the rapid striker Golf R Variant with 300 PS to the untiring playmaker Golf GTD Variant. The Golf variants are part of the reliable and experienced Highline range, which Volkswagen predicts would get fans to the stadiums or public screenings safely.
The Golf Variant all-rounder also looks good, and not just in the colors of the tricolor. All of the Golf ‘team’ members stand out through their exceptional sporty nature. They also offer plenty of room for a trip to an away match as well, not to mention sufficient space for a barbecue grill, beverages and much more.
The Golf is and remains firmly established: since its launch in 2013, this popular all-rounder has been crowned with over 40 awards in Germany and abroad in addition to today’s award. These include ‘Car of the Year’, ‘World Car of the Year’, ‘Auto Trophy’, ‘Auto der Vernunft’ (Most Sensible Car), Top Gear’s ‘All the car you’ll ever need’, the ‘What Car’ award and many more. Even today, the Golf is still emerging as the winner of numerous comparison tests in car magazines. The independent organization Euro NCAP awarded the popular all-rounder its highest five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash test and also awarded it four innovation awards.
The success story of the Golf is singular and began 41 years ago. With more than 30 million cars built in seven different generations, the Golf has been setting the standard for decades in the compact class and still retains its leading role today when it comes to using the latest vehicle technologies. Another ground-breaking achievement by the Golf is its exterior and interior design, which has been characterized by a distinctive and timeless product and design language from the first to the seventh generation.
