Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace set for European premiere at Geneva

Previously premiered at the 2017 NAIAS (North American International Auto Show), the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace (long version) is set for its European debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Beginning in the early part of second quarter, the Tiguan, with up to seven seats, will be launched successively in North America, China and Europe.

The European version of the long Tiguan will be given the added designation “Allspace”, while the models for North America and China will simply be called “Tiguan”. As the name suggests, the new long version of the Tiguan boasts more room in the interior and a longer wheelbase (+ 11 cm). Both aspects ensure greater flexibility in the interior. In addition, the Tiguan Allspace comes with an attractive range of equipment features.

In addition to its longer wheelbase (Allspace), the new SUV is also identifiable by other features. The individually designed silhouette of the rear section, modifications to the front and a much enhanced standard specification differentiate it from the more compact Tiguan version.

In a nutshell, the new Tiguan Allspace closes the gap between compact Tiguan and premium class Touareg. It has 215 mm longer exterior length and 109 mm longer wheelbase, compared to the standard version. As a seven-seater, the new Volkswagen SUV offers seven seats With 5 passengers on board, while the luggage capacity has been increased by 145 liters, and could go up to 760 liters. Meanwhile, the maximum cargo volume is increased for the five-seater by 265 to 1,920 liters, thus reaching van format.

In looks, the SUV is considered to express a striking design with custom front section and modified window line. The Tiguan Allspace comes with extended standard equipment from Trendline upwards. Some of the unique features available on the Tiguan Allspace are the Pro infotainment system, which offers gesture control for first time in the model line, and an entire repertoire of VW’s finest interior offerings.

The new VW Tiguan Allspace is offered with a choice of six engines; from 110 kW / 150 PS to 176 kW / 240 PS. The engines are paired to the DSG and 4MOTION from 132 kW / 180 PS (standard package).
