With a couple of weeks into 2020, there are much talk about the Malaysian Government’s initiative to give a cashback to the citizens. This initiative know as ‘e-tunai rakyat’ means everyone gets RM30 cashback, from 15 January onwards.

In conjunction with this initiative, leading e-wallet organization TouchNGo is doubling the cashback to RM60 when you use the e-wallet service. The e-wallet is accepted at some 120,000 merchants in the country

In addition, the e-wallet company has ongoing campaigns which further reward its users. One latest campign is the ‘Big 2 Million Weekly Draw’* where users stand a chance of winning RM2 million worth of prizes, each week. Prizes include eight Proton x70, eighty Yamaha Ego Solariz bikes, eighty Huawei P30 (256GB) and four hundred Vivo V15 smartphones. This campaign kicked off 15 January until 10 March. eWallet users who spend a RM20 minimum on the app at touchpoints are eligible for an entry. A user who has registered a TNG card in Touch ’n Go eWallet and uses RFID gets two additional entries.

With the society moving towards the cashless way, e-wallet becomes something of a necessity for everyone. e-wallet has become increasingly viable thanks to its updated security features and regular promotions to encourage more adopters to go cashless. Although it is always a known option for toll payments and public utilities, TouchNGo is trying to get more merchants, services and adopters on board to promote the idea of a cashless society.
