2015 Nissan Almera comes out of the woodwork

 2015 Nissan Almera_Diamond Black With the Nissan Almera’s dwindling sales in the final run of 2014, Edaran Tan Chong Motor has announced the updated Almera in hopes of restoring its popular selling compact car to its former sales glory, specifically between its debut in October 2012 till April 2013. The Almera has faced very stiff competitions particularly from the Honda City and Toyota Vios, which were unveiled in March and August 2013. in all, the Almera has tallied 56,000 units since its October 2012 introduction.

As for the updated, refreshed Nissan Almera, there’s isn’t a significant change on the outlook. The 2015 Nissan Almera spots a fresh front bumper with the familiar 3-D grille, multi-reflector headlights and chrome-accented fog lights. At the side, the winged mirror with signal and 15-inch wheels have been updated, along with subtle chrome accents, sleek lines and slightly wider shoulders. From the rear, everything else looks to be similar to the previous edition.

2015 Nissan Almera decked in Nismo Aero or Performance package

ETCM has always expanded its line-ups to inherit NISMO elements, and the Almera is no exception. The 2015 Nissan Almera Nismo is gifted an Aero package or Performance package for that extra appeasing factor. The three available Almera grades, E, V and VL, are all upgradable to either Nismo package.

The inside of the 2015 Almera actually incorporates more updates than the exterior, such as an integrated steering with switches, fine vision meter with MID and a refreshed center console in piano black, and for the first time, an Android-based Multimedia Navigation system on the 6.5-inch touchscreen. The Multimedia allows internet connectivity with Virtual Acoustic Positioning System, as well as connects to your iPod and USB and Bluetooth devices. The touchscreen even takes up a rear view camera. As with the previous Almera, the 2015 Almera inherits the 1.5-liter HR15DE four cylinder engine with CVTC. The powerplant’s emphasis is a very low fuel consumption of 14.9km/l for the auto versions and 15.9 km/l for the manual version.

2015 Nissan Almera price and availability

Five color hues are available for the 2015 Almera: Graphite Blue, Diamond Black, Bronze Gold, Brilliant White and Tungsten Silver. Priced between RM 66,900 (E grade) till RM 79,900 (VL grade), the Almera includes a 3-year warranty. With its introduction, ETCM is offering further discounts on optional items for the Almera, comprising Elegance, Navi with DVD and Navi with internet connectivity packages.

For Nismo buffs, the Almera Nismo Aero package comprises front, rear bumper spoilers, trunk lid spoiler, side skirts and 16-inch wheels with Continental MC5 205/50R16 tyres. The Nismo Performance package adds on Performance suspension system and Sports exhaust muffler to the Almera Nismo.
