|Designed, engineered and built in Europe, the Toyota Verso has proved to be a consistently popular contender in the C-MPV segment, with over 700,000 units sold since its initial launch in 2002.|
Within compact exterior dimensions, it boasts exceptional roominess, boasting one of the best seat couple distances in its class and the true multi-purpose vehicle versatility of the company’s Easy Flat seating system. A refreshed and up-dated 2016 Verso range builds on these core attributes with the addition of the Toyota Safety Sense system, an upgraded interior, newly designed alloy wheels and an expanded choice of colors.
Fitted as standard across the entire Verso range, the Toyota Safety Sense system takes active safety and driver assistance to new levels, offering customers a Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA) and Automatic High Beam (AHB). The upgraded interior benefits from a new leather steering wheel featuring a more solid and dynamic design, and a new gear lever with a premium quality metal and leather finish. Greater interior harmony is achieved through new graphite color inserts for the center console, parking brake lever and cup holders.
Further enhancing this greater sense of harmony, Mid grade seats are finished with a new, high quality upholstery which features embossed inserts on both the front and rear of the back rests. And new Dark Grey and Light Grey seats with leather side bolsters bring added refinement to the interior of High grade models. The improved Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system features a bigger, 7-inch full color touch screen. Its latest generation software equips the unit with increased user-friendliness, while the Toyota Touch 2 with Go and Toyota Touch 2 with Go Plus navigation systems benefit from improved navigation features and several new functions.
The 2016 Verso update also includes the availability of a new Platinum Bronze body color and new 16” & 17” alloy wheels with a more dynamic design and a machine-faced finish. Available throughout Europe from February next year, the 2016 #verso model range will be available with a choice of 1.6 D-4D diesel, or 1.6L and 1.8L Valvematic petrol engines.
Toyota Safety Sense Processing information provided by a compact, windscreen head-mounted unit housing both a laser and a camera, Toyota Safety Sense helps prevent or mitigate collisions across a wide range of traffic situations. Between speeds of approximately 10 km/h and 80 km/h, the Pre-Collision System (PCS) detects vehicles in front and reduces the risk of hitting them from behind. When there is a possibility of a collision it prompts the driver to brake with an audible and visual alert.
PCS also primes the brake system to deliver extra stopping force when the driver presses the brake pedal. If the driver fails to react in time, the system automatically applies the brakes, reducing speed by approximately 30 km/h or even bringing the car to a complete stop, in order to prevent the collision or mitigate the force of impact. The other feature, the Lane Departure Alert monitors lane markings and helps prevent accidents and head-on collisions caused by leaving lanes.
Thanks to the Safety Sense system reducing the risk of being involved in traffic accidents, drivers of the 2016 Verso may benefit from lower insurance costs or a more advantageous insurance reclassification.
