Volkswagen Beetle Dune
On the other side is the formidable Beetle Dune, which captures the iconic spirit of Baja Beetles. The Dune version is presented in a sporty image with a more rugged feel and a host of amenities and new technologies; never before offered on the third-generation Beetle.
The Beetle Dune has a more aggressive appearance than the rest of the Beetle range, thanks to the fitment of new front and rear fascias and pronounced black wheel arches that flow into the bumpers. The front bumper takes on a large central air intake that widens towards its bottom edge. Similarly, a black honeycomb screen with aluminum surround, which morphs into the front skid plate, give the Dune its one-of-a-kind demeanor. Furthermore, on either side of the intake, two black honeycomb vents contain the somewhat hidden foglights. A Lighting Package, made up of Bi-Xenons with DRLs and LED license plate lighting, will become an available option in due time for the Dune Beetle. Additionally, the Dune has a raised ride height of 0.4 inches and wider track at 0.6 inches for that rugged appeal.
Inside, the 2016 Beetle Dune features sport seats with contrasting orange stitching and a leather-wrapped multi-function steering. Numerous standard equipment consist of the MIB II infotainment system with the Car-Net suite and proximity sensor, 6.3-inch touchscreen, rear view camera and Park Distance Control system.
The 2016 Beetle Dune comes in three exterior colors: Sandstorm Yellow, Pure White, or Deep Black Pearl. Sandstorm Yellow cars have an interior that features body color upper door trims and dashpads, whereas the Pure White and Deep Black Pearl vehicles have black door and dashpad trims.
The 2016 Beetle Denim and Dune are exclusive short-run versions, and the range is expected to arrive at dealership early next year.
