With the partial lockdown enforced, Hyundai Malaysia (Hyundai Sime Darby Motors) has previewed the New, 7th-generation Elantra in late November. The new Hyundai Elantra is scheduled for an official debut at year end.
As a popular compact model in Hyundai’s line-up, the Elantra in its 7th-generation guise has received a bolder and masculine makeover. Aside from a chic exterior with hint of 3-D design, it has a more athletic appearance thanks to wide stark side lines and a tauter rear-end.
Inside, the New Elantra has an “immersive cocoon” interior, much like a cabin of an aircraft, that envelops the driver. The driver and front passenger see a large interface consisting of two connected 10.25-inch Supervision TFT and an 8-inch floating display screen. In terms of tech and creature comforts, the New Elantra is considered a trendsetting C-segment contender.
At the heart of the New Elantra is the Smartstream G1.6 MPi that is paired with an Intelligent Variable transmission to produce 123hp at 6,300rpm and a peak torque of 154Nm at 4,500rpm.
The New Hyundai Elantra is offered in a myriad of appeasing body colors and has an estimated price tag starting from just RM 118,888. Refer to the specification chart below for details:
