The Mazda CX-3 is the one and only Compact SUV in Mazda Malaysia’s line-up. The model is somewhat of a crossover that combines stylish youthful looks of the Mazda 2. Typical of a compact SUV, the CX-3 offers versatility with the high ride height and a frugal Skyactiv engine. For 2021, there’s an updated CX-3…here’s what you should know:
There are very subtle changes on the outside. The front and rear lights are now full LED units. The difference is really obvious with the tail lamps, with the design mimicking the lights on the CX-30.
The front grille is done in a more cleaner, blacked out design, compared to before.
On the inside, the Active Driving Display, 7 inch touchscreen, and the 6 speaker audio system remains. For 2021 though the CX-3 gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Also there are new leatherette-fabric seats and 360-degree view monitor.
Loaded with Safety systems
Complementing standard safety systems like 6 airbags, ABS and DSC, there’s Mazda’s i-ACTIVESENSE system. Under this you get Blind Spot Monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, Lane Departure Warning and Autonomous Braking.
Under the hood
Is the tried and tested Skyactive-G 2 liter engine. Which is good for 154bhp and a healthy 206Nm. Drive is sent to he front wheels via a 6 speed automatic transmission.
Mazda’s Shades of Grey
Surprisingly the CX-3 is offered in 2 different shades of grey, out of the 5 color options. The grey’s are called Machine Grey and the new Polymetal Grey. Other colors include Deep Crystal Blue, Snowflake White Pearl, and Soul Red Crystal.
The Mazda CX-3 for 2021 is fully imported from Japan, and its priced at RM130,729.00, inclusive of the 50% Sales Tax Reduction. For the price, Mazda throws in a 5 year manufacturers warranty, and a 5 year / 100,000km free maintenance package.
