Kia has revealed first impressions of the much anticipated EV6, the world’s first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV).
The New Kia EV6 inaugurates the brand’s new design philosophy known as ‘Opposites United’ and based on a Crossover platform, incorporating Kia’s new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).
On the outside, the car gets sleek DRLs that resembles a ‘Digital Tiger Face’. This evokes Kia’s ‘Tiger Nose Grille’ for the electrified era. Other notable highlights are the ‘sequential’ dynamic light pattern, low air intake and sharp lines with high-tech details. From the rear, there’s a swept-back windshield, bold rear haunches and a character line that runs along the bottom of the doors curving upwards towards the rear wheel arches. In addition, the rear displays a sloping C-pillar with an integrated black glossy insert, which visually widens the window glass. A spoiler has been included for good measures.
Inside, the EV6 boasts a striking element which is a seamless high-tech interior, complete with high-def audio/visual and AVN screen. There’s a wide curved screen and slim dashboard to add to the spatial element. The instrument cluster in front of the driver displays vehicle and navigation info, accessible by a number of buttons. Underneath the AVN screen, passengers control HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) settings by using haptic ‘buttons’. Lastly, passengers sit on slim, lightweight and modern seats, which are made out of plastics.
The Kia EV6 is set for world debut in late March, stay tuned for details…
