The refreshed Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ has just been announced by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, alongside its direct sibling the C 45 S 4MATIC+. The latest A 45 S 4MATIC+ replaces the previous A 45 S 4MATIC+ Edition 1. Mercedes poured several updates for the two special models with fresh exterior and interior elements, as well as up-the-ante on the power output. Both AMG models share similar updates. We would like to highlight the A 45 S 4MATIC+ for the readers.
For the exterior, the updated A 45 S 4MATIC+ is distinguished by the coveted AMG grille and the undeniable 19-inch AMG wheels in matt black. A closer look into the wheels entail the performance brake system with red calipers and that familiar AMG emblem. The Night Package, as available from the Edition 1, features high-gloss black/black adorning the front splitter, side sill panels, beltline and window line/mirror housing. To the rear, the aero foil and two round exhausts are paired seamlessly to the high-gloss black apron to give the back profile lots of sporty character.
The interior is a place of action for the road, beginning with the AMG steering in Nappa leather and DINAMICA microfiber to ensure optimum grip. Next, the body-clinging seats come complete with AMG engravings and red design seatbelts. New highlight added to this AMG A 45 S edition is the Head-up Display. For entertainment and infotainment purposes, the standard MBUX multimedia system takes care of everything.
A power packed 2.0l engine (deemed most potent for its class) in the A 45 S 4MATIC+ propels the car to an upgraded 421 hp and a century sprint in just 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 270 km/h. Maximum torque reaches a staggering 500 Nm from 5000 – 5250rpm. The CLA S 4MATIC+ is however a miniscule 0.1 second behind in the century mark dash.
The Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4 MATIC+ has a starting retail price of RM 437,673.41, while the CLA S 4MATIC+ goes for RM 453,374.19.
