The new Honda City bears the ‘Advanced Cool Stunner’ or Grand Concept depiction, which translates to Honda’s three key messages: Advanced Sporty Design, Best Comfort and Best Fuel Efficiency.
2014 Honda City with H-design Concept and Cross-motion form
In looks, the new Honda City carries the H-design concept and Cross-motion form exterior styling which highlights a solid wing face, well-toned athlete form body and finely-honed surfaces. The 4th generation City measures 4440 mm in length (same as its predecessor), 1695 mm in width (similar to the 3rd-gen City), 1495 mm in height (10 mm more) and 2600 mm as the wheelbase (extended by an additional 50 mm).
Just like the latest CR-V, the City’s interior delivers “Man maximum, Machine minimum” sentiment. Basically, the compact car is derived to maximize the space available for occupants and minimize the space required for mechanical components. In the most spacious and comfortable City that has been possible ever, the contemporary ‘Layered Floating’ cockpit takes refinement and ease of driving to the next level. The cockpit’s controls, interface are positioned to be driver-centric. Furthermore, the controls are operated like a smartphone, according to Honda.
A diesel version, 1.5-liter 4-cyclinder DOHC i-DTEC powerplant, is available for the new City, albeit only for the India market. The Petrol version, with the familiar 1.5L 4 cylinder SOHC i-VTEC engine, is the other option. Estimated output and torque should run around under 100 PS and 150 Nm, which are quite similar to the previous City.
