The Sentra first came up in 1982 and the 2020 Sentra is the 8th generation. The brand-new Nissan Sentra has gone through a reinvention of sorts in the U.S. It’s Nissan’s best selling model there with 6 million units sold, up to date. The 2020 Sentra will hit showrooms in January.

Looks have drastically been uplifted compared to the previous generation. The inside, powertrain and major aspects of the car have all been literally transformed and redefined.

Let’s start with looks, the New Nissan Sentra has improved proportions and stance, about two inches lower and two inches wider than the previous generation. The exterior has all of Nissan’s latest design language, such as the V-motion grille, thin LED headlights and floating roof. Additionally, it’s got new wheels and new body colors with two-tone combinations.

As for the interior, the Sentra gets a similar refined treatment inside. Extra attention was paid to the smallest of details to improve the perceived and actual quality and Premium-effect of the new Sentra, from steering feel to the smooth dials and switches. Available amenities range from quilted, leather-appointed, heated front seats and heated outside mirrors to Nissan’s renowned Zero Gravity seats and Intelligent Around View Monitor. Infotainment and connectivity features include an available floating 8-inch multi-touch center display and NissanConnect compatibility.

The New Sentra is fitted with a new, fuel-efficient 2.0-liter engine, rated at 149 hp. Safety and driver assistance technologies, now available across the entire family of Nissan sedans, include standard Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of six advanced driverassist systems that includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking and High Beam Assist. The new Sentra also offers ten airbags, Rear Door Alert, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Intelligent Driver Alertness.
