BMW X5 xDrive45e Is Now Officially Available In Malaysia

After the successful introduction of the previous plug-in hybrid variant of the BMW X5, BMW Malaysia today revealed the new generation X5 xDrive45e M Sport. This premium SUV or as BMW calls it SAV is a best seller with an M designation to denote sportiness and dynamism. 

Similar to the base X5, this M variation takes on several updates to bring our the sporty side of things. The new updates include slim Adaptive LED headlights with Selective Beam,  front LED fog lights, 20-inch M  wheels in Star Spoke style 740 M bi-color and M Sport brakes.

Inside, the X5 xDrive45e M comes standard with Leather Vernasca upholstery, M leather steering, memory front seats, four-zone air conditioning and Sensatec instrument panel, as well as a 464W 16-Speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system. Other notables are auto tailgate, wireless charging, an expandable boot capacity from 500  to 1,720 liters, BMW Live Cockpit with 12.3-inch digital touchscreen display, and a 10.2-inch touchscreen monitor at the rear. BMW ConnectedDrive is standard equipment, as well.

The X5 xDrive45e M is powered by a three-liter six-cylinder engine, paired to an 8-speed Steptronic transmission, to output 394hp and a peak torque of 600Nm. Top speed and 0 – 100 km/h dash are listed 235km/h and 5.6 seconds. Since this variant is a plug-in, it could run on full electric with a range of up to 77km on a full charge. Fuel consumption is expected approximately 2.5 l/100km while CO2 is 56g/km.

The BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport is now also equipped with the 2-axle air suspension on the front and rear axles, maximizing its dynamic ability and comfort.

Next-level driving assistance offered with this variant are BMW Personal CoPilot, Intelligent Parking Assistant Plus with Surround View Camera, Reversing Assistant and Comfort Access 2.0 for contactless locking and unlocking.

The X5 xDrive45e M comes in four hues (Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire, Mineral White and Artic Grey) along with Leather ‘Vernasca’ design perforations in Black and a fine-wood trim ‘Fineline Stripe’ with brown high-gloss interior. Upgrades for this variant include front air inlet, exterior mirror cap, front and rear winglets, carbon fiber rear diffuser, side decals, side skirt films and Star Spoke Jet Black Matte wheels. The car goes on sale from 20 June at a retail price of RM 440,745.00
