Citroen DS5 has been refined with further Avant-garde stylings

14BB16 JPG_resize The 2015 Citroen DS5 is a car about avant-garde styling, coupled with a dynamic outlook and a bunch of detailed refinements with a selection of advanced technologies. The flagship variant of the DS line-up embodies all the attributes of present and future DS vehicles.

At the front, you get sculpted, vertical grille with the DS emblem in the center, along with Full LED Bi-Xenons headlights. Underlining the assertive looks of the front end, the hexagonal DS Wings grille gains a sculpted graphic. A chrome surround gives the grille an elegant look, which is accentuated by two flights of light inside the headlights. Viewed from the side, there’s a slender chrome sabre running from the tip of the headlight to the front window. The rear of the new DS5 takes on wider tracks and double tailpipes, integrated to the new bumper. The signature six light guides have been retained for a unique rear look preposition.

Proclaimed Avant-garde styling fits like a glove for the Citroen DS5

As a proclaimed Avant-garde car, the inside of the new DS5 presents the world of aerospace design. The cockpit roof with its three light wells and controls on the lower console and overhead have been transferred to the current DS5. The driving position has been designed to center on the driver. Major highlight to the new DS5’s interior is the color touch drive interface which gives easy access, ranging from navigation to music. The interface has a simplified design with 12 fewer buttons on the center console. With new mirror screen technology and MyDS, smartphone connectivity becomes a breeze. Additionally, the DS Connect Box, available for the Europe market only, offers essential SOS and Assistance services on the move.

All the engines available with the new DS 5, both petrol and diesel, combine power (between 120 and 210 bhp) with respect for the environment (between 3.8l/100 km and 4.3l/100 km for the diesel versions). Without forgetting the Hybrid 4 x 4:90g/km of CO 2 for consumption of 3.5l/100 km over a combined cycle.

There are six Euro6 engines with torque of between 240 and 400 Nm, including Blue HDi 120 S&S 6-speed manual, Blue HDi 150 S&S 6-speed manual, Blue HDi 180 S&S EAT6 and Hybrid 4X4 diesel. The range will be extended in late 2015 with a 210 bhp engine, the THP 210 S&S 6-speed manual.

Slated for debut at this year’s Geneva Motor, the new Citroen DS5 is set to arrive in showrooms across Europe in June.
