The latest Nissan Navara is the first Japanese pickup in the country to feature a multi-link rear suspension, and the pick up ultimately offers a more exemplary driving impression and ensures exceptional ride comfort; that’s equivalent to an SUV, even with a ton’s payload. The NP300 Navara proves to be popular amongst the citizens, as ETCM has already garnered close to a thousand bookings since pre-launch bookings started in mid-October; not long after its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Fully imported from Thailand, six 4WD versions are available in the country: from the Double Cab-series to a Single Cab type, ranging from the 2.5 VL 7-speed AT to the 2.5L 6-speed MT. Prices for the line-up range from RM120,800 for the Double Cab 2.5VL 7-speed AT to RM79,000 for the Single Cab 2.5L MT, with GST included. The single cab Navara NP300 offered in the country is deemed the most powerful pick up in its class.
Nissan’s pickup design and heritage DNA is as distinctive as ever in the NP300 Navara from a first-in-class, full LED Headlight with boomerang-shaped Daytime Running Light frames Nissan’s signature ‘V-motion’ grille, further emphasizing the aesthetics of the NP300 Navara. A new rear spoiler improves overall aerodynamics, while 18-inch alloy wheels add on to its element of sportiness on this bread and butter pick up.
The NP300 Navara is powered by an improved 2.5L YD25DDTi variable geometry system (VGS) turbo intercooler engine, and fitted with a seven- speed automatic transmission, tagged to manual mode, for more power and smoother acceleration. A maximum output of 190 PS at 450Nm/2,000rpm makes it the most powerful pickup in its class.
The same enhanced comforts found in Nissan’s other variants are present in the NP300 Navara including, 5-inch color Advanced Drive Assist Display (ADAD) screen, leather-wrapped steering with switches, the first-in-class Zero Gravity inspired seats, improved seatback angle of rear seats and rear air-conditioning vents.
Key safety features in the NP300 Navara are Hill Start Assist; Hill Descent Control; and Active Brake Limited Slip for traction control and vehicle stability. In addition, standard Active and Passive safety features include ISOFIX, Vehicle Dynamic Control and Traction Control System, Anti-locking Braking System, Electronic Brake Force distribution and Brake Assist. Furthermore, the pick up’s complete steel body enables a full payload of one tonne. At the back of the truck, the included easy bed step, first in its class, makes cargo loading and unloading a breeze.
The new Nissan NP300 Navara comes with a 3-year or 100,000km (whichever comes first) warranty. Four colors are available: Tungsten Silver, Diamond Black, Brilliant White, and a new color option, Savanna Orange.
