Honda Malaysia proudly announced that the Honda HR-V, now available with the RS and Hybrid versions, has topped the Compact SUV segment with delivery of over 3,000 units in a month and bookings of 8,500 units, up to date. The HR-V numbers alone makes up 87% of the compact SUV segment in Malaysia.
Since the updated HR-V’s introduction in January, the model has been preferred by Malaysians due to its affordable price tag and choice of variants. At a starting price of RM 108,120, the HR-V offers a rather good preposition to new families and SUV lovers. The HR-V available with 1.8L SOHC is offered in four variants: the Hybrid, RS, V and E. More recently, Honda has added the RS and Hybrid versions to the line-up. The RS variant gets 18-inch dual-tone wheels, a sporty demeanor, black bumpers, and a new driving feature. Variable Gear Ratio (VGR) steering system.
The HR-V Hybrid variant comes with intelligent Dual-Clutch Drive (i-DCD) system to balance performance and fuel efficiency. The 1.5l engine, along with a Li-on batt pack, simply stress on efficiency even more.
Across the board, the HR-V has these safety features: 6 airbags, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and ISOFIX points. Value added features are included as well; comprising Multi-Angle Rearview Camera, 8-Way Driver Power Seat (V & RS), full leather seats (V & RS), Lane Watch camera (V & RS variants), Cruise Control and steering with shifters.
Back to the sales numbers, Klang Valley tops all regions with 47%, ahead of the Southern region with and the North also at 18%. HR-V’s favorite color amongst buyers is the Passion Red Pearl, which attributed up to 28% of total sales.
