Hyundai Tucson 1.6 Turbo rolls out in Malaysia

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has rolled-out the new Hyundai Tucson 1.6l Turbo GDI (T-GDI) Petrol Engine variant, packed with exciting and new convenient features.

Priced at RM145,588 (OTR Price without Insurance), the turbocharged 1.6l T-GDI gasoline engine that is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT) delivers 177PS at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 265 Nm from 1,500 to 4,500 rpm. The Hyundai-developed 7DCT offers outstanding efficiency with quick, seamless shifting and brisk acceleration.

Apart from the powerful powertrain, this new variant is also bundled with convenient features such as LED Positioning Headlights with Static Bending Lights; Auto Hold function that automatically holds the brake steady once the vehicle has come to a complete stop.

On the exterior, the 1.6l T-GDI Tucson features newly designed wheels for a sporty look. Designed based on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design theme, the Tucson employs refined aesthetics with sculpted body form and sporty contours for an athletic, bold and striking appearance.

The front of the All-New Tucson is dominated by the Hyundai signature hexagonal front grille, which connects to the headlights with LED positioning lights to create a distinctive identity. The A-pillar positioning and the directional shape of the wheel arches accentuate the car’s dynamic appearance, giving the car a unique style and provides a visual reference of the car’s wide track. An optional body kit and 19-inch rims are available for customers who would like to enhance the Tucson’s look.

Moving to the interior, a premium wrapped instrument panel is offered, with extra-wide instrument panel contours to enhance the occupants’ overall sense of interior roominess. Interior touch points have been upgraded with premium, soft-touch materials and an all interior switchgear with a more refined feel during operation. Optional accessories with added costs, such as two leather packages for seats and interior door trimmings (color options: red and white).

The Tucson benefits from a solid body structure featuring 51% of ultra-high strength steel for improved torsional rigidity and impact resistance and a host of innovative passive and active safety features. As with all Hyundai models, the Tucson also features a state-of-the-art safety system that offers optimal driving stability. These include the Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system, Hillstart Assist Control (HAC), Downhill Brake Control (DBC) and the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) with an Automatic Vehicle Hold feature. It is also fully equipped with six airbags for all round safety.

All Tucson variants are entitled to 50,000 km free service with three-year validity. Hyundai Malaysia offers a five-year or 300,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty on all its new passenger vehicles. A 24-hour road assist service is also available now for new and existing Hyundai vehicles.
