Infiniti Q5 Sedan is an upscale Premium option for the domestic market
Exterior-wise, the Q50 is presented with several signature exterior motifs from the ‘double arch’ grille, the dynamic wave to the crescent-cut C-pillar and bold rear end. The front-end is decidedly aggressive, with a sporty front fascia and LED headlights with integrated DRLs (Daytime Running Light). The Q50’s defining side profile is accentuated by a flowing silhouette with chrome hinge, side mirror with turn signal light and a short rear overhang.
The upper and lower body of the Q50 direct the flow of air over, around and under the vehicle, making the Q50 an effective downforce generator. By minimizing the pressure under the car and the ‘suction’ effect over it, the car achieves zero-lift at the front and rear thanks to reduced wind turbulence.
From the rear, the Q50 has the recognizable light housings and reflectors on the bumper. The rear of the Q50 is further enhanced by the chrome-accented boot lid trim with the enlarged Infiniti letters, added chrome trim below the plate and the two rounded exhaust. Finally, the package is completed by 17-inch twin five-spoke aluminum wheels with performance run-flat tyres, while the Premium version gets a slightly larger 18-inch split seven-spoke aluminum wheels with run flats. For the Hybrid version, Sport front bumper and 19-inch wheels are on the cards.
As a premium sedan, the Q50 presents an impressive cabin spread with a meticulously-designed layout and plenty of well-crafted trimmings. The standard Q50 offers Rear-view monitor with sonar system, leather front seats with memory function, Infiniti InTouch system, and is accessible with an Intelligent Key (I-Key). Move up to the GT Premium version, you get Direct-Adaptive Steering with Active Lane Control, Bose 14-speaker premium audio system with AudioPilot and CenterPoint, more affable interior trimmings, and ample top notch safety equipment such as; the Predictive Forward Collision Warning and Forward Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Prevention, Blind Spot Intervention and Around View Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection.
The Hybrid version has even more premium items, consisting the Sport-tuned suspension and braking system, magnesium steering shifters, sport seats, aluminum pedals and foot rest and a moonroof.
The Q50 sedan is powered by a 2.0-liter direct-injection four-cylinder turbo engine with CVTCS that churns 211 hp and 350Nm of torque. This means a century sprint of 7.2 seconds and top speed of 245 km/h, while sipping just a liter of gas per 13.6 km on a combined cycle. Up-the-ante to the Hybrid version, the Q50 is boosted by a 3.5-liter V6 with Direct Response on CVTCS, which utilizes a lithium battery and 67 hp electric motor. This translates to a 364 hp and peak torque of 350 Nm. The combined system achieves 0 – 100km/h in 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h, while fuel economy is kept honest at 16.1km per liter.
